Born in 1968, Peter Hörr studied Cello and Baroque-Cello with Heinrich Schiff resp. Christophe Coin at the Music Academy in Basle and receifed his «Master's Degree» in 1990. He worked with musical teachers such as L. Fleisher, N. Harnoncourt, W. Lutoslawski, B. Pergamentschikow and M. Pressler. Peter Hörr was prize winner at international competitions (e.g. International Cello competition Scheveningen, Netherlands) and was invited for the "Ravinia Festival" in USA. Since then he has been playing as Soloist with European Orchestras and as Chamber musician with K. Engel, J. Frantz, T. Gridenko, V. Oistrach, H. Schif, G. Wyss and the Hagen Quartet. Debutconcerts were given in Chicago, London, Basle and the Schleswig-Holstein-Festival. As chamber musician he was guest in Lucerne, Paris and Tokyo. Since 1992 Peter Hörr has been Professor of cello at the Conservatoire Bern (Switzerland).
