KREMSKI | «Exils»

Alain Kremski is a truly exceptional pianist and composer. As winner of the Prix de Rome, he made a name for himself in France at an early age, and used his success both to establish himself in the film branch as a composer and to enhance his active pianistic career with a new facet: compositions for traditional singing bowls. He uses them as instruments in the Western compositional tradition and blends them with the piano sound on a very high artistic level. This gives rise to a subtle, meditative music whose sometimes strange-sounding intervals and harmonies provoke amazement before increasingly captivating the listener and inviting him into virgin acoustical territory. This unique artist has succeeded in bringing his personal presence into harmony with his musical talents in a most creative and expressive manner. His concerts leave no one untouched through their authenticity and substance, their simplicity and serenity. This is why his audiences love him.

On this CD, Alain Kremski and Aliette Berthelemy present the following pieces for piano, singing bowls, gongs and temple bells:

  1. "Prière": Tibetan temple in the mountains
  2. "Souvenir": Lullaby for a Tibetan child
  3. "Exils": Meditation on space, time and memory
  4. "Aube": Christ alone on the Mount of Olives
  5. "Contemplation": Secret prayer on the holy name of our Lord Jesus Christ

This CD "Exils" bears this name because Alain Kremski dedicated it to His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
