Corelli and Friends | «In Rome»

Jonathan Guyonnet and Stefano Molardi share a mutual interest in musical discoveries. For the present recording, they decided to take a closer look at the composers around Arcangelo Corelli (1653–1713). Their selection includes a number of works that are still unknown and that have never been recorded.

The works of Locatelli, Valentini and Montanari are first-ever recordings. By releasing this CD, Divox pays tribute to the collaboration of Jonathan Guyonnet and Stefano Molardi as the creative team behind the «Virtuosi delle Muse». Both interpreters wanted to celebrate their friendship and the commitment with which they have cultivated their young and now successfully established ensemble by realizing a more intimate project together. Over and beyond its purely repertoire-related interest, this recording also allows the listener to follow two musical companions as they concertize together on their journey of discovery, and perhaps to be inspired by the dialogue that arises between them.
