Renato Dionisi (Rovigno d'Istria, Pola 2.1.1910 - Verona 25.8.2000). Composer and teacher. He began his studies with Roberto Rossi in Rovereto (Italy), continued at them at the Liceo musicale in Bolzano where he was a pupil of Celestino Eccher and Mario Mascagni. In 1936 he received the composer's diploma and went to perfect his knowledge at the Accademia Chigiana. He started teaching in Bolzano. Until 1949 he was teaching at the Conservatorio in Florence as well as at the Scuola Civica in Milano. He was mainly interested in chamber music, but occasionally also in sinfonic œuvres, organ and popular music. In Italy his works are known through a lot of recordings made of his compositions by various artists.
