Ballads for Loving Kindness is Miriam's «prayer to Love Godess, and a communication with the spiritual world». Although she usually sings jazz standards, on this recording she introduces a collection of virtually unknown ballads just waiting to be discovered. With each tune, in fact, each word, Miriam draws us irrestably into her private world. And it is Kirk Lightsey who provides the perfect complement, adding his elegant comments from time to time, never dominating the musical flow.

Included is a song written by Miriam and bassist Isla Eckinger, «Deep in my dreams». Conceived in an evening jam session, the lyrics fall into place with the melody in the most simple and spontaneous way.
