The Heritage of Frescobaldi | Volume 1

Italian organ music reached its prime with Frescobaldi. He had a lasting influence on his students like Michelangelo Rossi and organists of the next generation being trained in Rome like Bernardo Pasquini. This influence is manifested in numerous ways, and is even noticeable in south Italian composers such as Gregorio Strozzi, Bernardo Storace and Giovanni Salvatore.

The gripping influence of Frescobaldi on the above mentioned composers’ works is un-mistakeable. The recorded repertoire displays this influence on the south Italian composers and is very useful to show the glittering and fine colorfulness of the Nacchini organ.
