Giuseppe P. Paganelli

{ Biography }

Giuseppe (Gioseffo) Antonio Paganelli was born in Padua into a patrician Venetian family. Paganelli studied with Guiseppe Tartini in his native city. He made his first compositional steps as a composer of operas in Venice in 1732. The following year he went to Germany as a member of an Italian musical ensemble, and had several of his operas performed there. He was appointed court composer in Brunswick in 1737 and, the following year, chamber music director of the King of Spain. He remained in Madrid until his death in 1783.
