A composer, organist, pianist and amateur painter. Valeri was born in Padua, where he took his first music lessons with Turini. He went on to become a famous piano virtuoso and wrote piano sonatas for two and four hands as well as a group of cadenzas which reflect his extraordinary dexterity. He was organist at the cathedral of Padua from 1785 until 1803, and maestro di cappella as well from 1805 until his death.
