Roberta Invernizzi, born in Milan, studied piano and double bass before turning to singing, studying with Margaret Heyward. She went on to specialize in baroque and classical repertoire and is now one of the most sought after soloists in the field of early music. She has sung in many of the most important theatres in Europe and the United States, as well as at famous festivals, working with conductors like T.Koopman, G. Leonhardt, A. Parrot, J.Savall, F. Biondi, A. Florio, R. Alessandrini and O. Dantone and collaborating regularly with the ensembles Il Giardino Armonico, La Cappella de la Pietà dei Turcchini, Il Concerto Italiano, Europa Galante, I Sonatori de la Gioiosa Marca and l'Archibudelli. Her opera performances include principal roles in a broad variety of baroque operas. She has made over 60 recordings, many of which have been recognized by the musical press with awards like Choc de l'Année, Diapason d'Or, and Choc de la Musique. Besides her solo career, she teaches singing at the Centro di Musica Antica in Naples and at the Civica School in Milan.
