Shortly after forming the ensemble in 1989, the Trio was invited to attend the Young Artist Festival in Chicago. Following their successful United States debut concert there, the trio was named Ravinia. Pianist Saiko Sasaki is a graduate of the New England Conservatory where she studied with Russell Sherman as well with J.-B. Pommier in Lausanne. She received her Bachelor's and Master's degree with honor in 1987. Rainer Schmidt, is member of the famous Hagen Quartett, Salzburg since 1987 touring all over the world. He teaches at the Music Academy in Basle. Peter Hörr, cello (in CDX-291067, was prize winner in the International Scheveningen (NL) Competition 1989 abd completed his diploma as soloist in 1990 under the guidance of Heinrich Schiff at the Academy in Basle.
