Jonathan Guyonnet was born in San Remo and studied violin in Monte Carlo and Paris. He soon began a brillant musical career and has worked - both as concertmaster and soloist - with many Baroque ensembles in France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Italy, in particular with La petite bande, the Venice Baroque Orchestra, Les Talents Lyriques, Stradivaria, the Orchestre des Champs-Elysées, Le Concert Spirituel, La Symphonie des Marais, Caecilia Concert, l'Arte dell' Arco a.o. Jonathan Guyonnet has guested in the most famous and important concert halls around the world.
Among the artists he has worked together with S. Kuijken, P. Herreweghe, G. Leonhardt, A. Marcon, V. Mullova, A. Scholl, A. Netrebko, Max E. Cencic, F. Guglielmo, Joyce di Donato, C. Bartoli, A. Kirchschlager, S. Kermes, M. Kozená, D. Cuiller, D. Stern, C. Coin, G. Carmignola, Chr. Rousset, P. Goodwin, Katia and Marielle Labèque a.o.
For DG-Archiv, Harmonia Mundi, Naïve, Virgin, Amati, Glossa, and others, Jonathan Guyonnet has recorded works of Vivaldi, Bach, Händel and music of the 17th century and received international awards such as the Edison Award, many Diapason d'or, Choc de la Musique, 10 de Répertoire and Goldberg. Many of his concerts have been broadcasted live by European, American and Asian radio stations.
Since 2004 he has been the concertmaster of the Baroque Ensemble I Virtuosi delle Muse, which he founded together with Stefano Molardi. The orchestra devotes itself to the Italian and German repertoire of the 17th and 18th centuries. He has performed with this ensemble in the most prestigious concert halls and has been awarded numerous prizes and honors.
