The gifted violinist Giuliano Carmignola grew up in Treviso, Italy, and studied under such great masters as Milstein and Szering. As a soloist, he has concertized under conductors such as Abbado, Inbal, Maag and Sinopoli. For many years now, he has been focusing his artistic interest chiefly on historical performance practice, showing a particular affinity with 17th Venetian music. Today, Carmignola ranks alongside Gidon Kremer and Maxim Vengerov as one of the world's most outstanding violinists.
